Apartment in a new residential building
What mattered to the client
A couple with two teenage sons
The clients had two main wishes. First, they asked us to remove the third bathroom, which allowed us to create a walk-through dressing room next to the bedroom. Second, it was important to accommodate their extensive book collection without turning the apartment into a branch of the Lenin Library.
The clients’ favourite unusual feature was an Arco Iris onyx slab. We used a complex fixing system to mount it above the bed and added a crisp white frame for a finished look. It became the bedroom’s main focal point.
We separated the apartment’s main space — the kitchen and living room — from the entrance hall with a curved wall finished in marble mosaic with a 3D effect. All joinery was custom-made from the designer’s drawings, taking ergonomics and the clients’ wishes into account. The kitchen draws attention with flowing lines and shimmering beige-and-gold fronts.
A welcoming interior that gives the owners’ art collection and extensive library the space they deserve.
