Project highlights
A couple with three daughters. Rather than a permanent home, the apartment was conceived as a city residence for the family’s occasional stays in Moscow.
The clients wanted a contemporary, expressive interior with the atmosphere of a private city apartment: deep, dark shared spaces, striking materials and an intimate sense of luxury.
The apartment also needed to remain practical and comfortable for the whole family, with well-planned storage, a convenient children’s area for three girls, and flexible spaces for spending time together or enjoying privacy.

The defining feature is the balance between a sophisticated, almost hotel-like aesthetic and family practicality. The kitchen and living room form one space, but decorative sliding partitions can visually separate them when needed. This allows the shared area to remain open or become more intimate.
Dark surfaces, wood, stone, and contrasting glossy and matt textures give the interior depth and visual drama. The children’s room uses a lighter, softer palette. Perforated oak-veneer panels on its walls create a decorative rhythm and provide a practical base for shelves, books, toys and the children’s personal belongings.
The main bedroom features a decorative fireplace opposite the bed, integrated with the TV area into an architectural built-out wall. Sculptural MDF panels behind the bed add relief, depth and the character of a bespoke finish.

The finished interior
A contemporary family interior with the character of a city residence: restrained, rich and visually layered without feeling overloaded.
The shared areas are darker and more dynamic, with an emphasis on texture, lighting scenes and contrasting materials. The children’s rooms and supporting spaces soften the overall impression, adding light, warmth and the comfort of home.
The apartment feels like a thoughtfully designed place to stay in the city: a special setting for visits, gatherings, relaxation and quiet family time in a private, carefully composed interior.
