What mattered to the client
A family with two children who dreamed of a contemporary home
A contemporary home is, above all, about space and light. Our clients spent a long time looking for the right luxury country property. They wanted both qualities to come together and meet the highest standards of country living.
A house with high ceilings and panoramic glazing was the perfect solution for the family. We made these same qualities central to the interior. The entire layout preserves a sense of freedom of movement without compromising privacy or comfort.
The ground floor is the more social part of the house, with generous open spaces flowing from the entrance through the hall into a single living, dining and kitchen area. The first floor is private, with three separate bedrooms, each with its own spacious walk-in wardrobe and fully equipped bathroom.
The living room originally had an unusual trapezoidal shape, so conventional zoning methods would not work. We divided it into two areas: a space for conversation and watching TV, and a place to relax by the fireplace.
How did we combine minimalism and luxury?
Nude-toned kitchen fronts paired with black fluted surfaces create a restrained, contemporary combination that is also versatile and timeless. Natural marble on both the splashback and worktop gives the kitchen a warm, understated sense of luxury.
Panoramic glazing integrates the interior with its natural surroundings, bringing nature into the home and making it part of the interior.
An interior where you can slow down and find privacy and comfort. Here, every member of the family can enjoy a calm, contemplative atmosphere. This home is filled with warm light, air and refined textures.
